Susan Hays is an Austin attorney who advises farmers and companies on hemp and cannabis law and helped legalize the crop of hemp in Texas. She is a descendant of Texas ranchers and was raised in Brownwood. She owns land in Alpine where she grows hemp. She is a graduate of the University of Texas and has clerked at the Texas Supreme Court.
